Ready, Steady… Life! is a European Erasmus+ project that involves
Days of (hard) work
In November we were taking part in Erasmus+ project. We have been preparing for this event since the beginning of the school year. When the guests came to us, we knew it was going to be a fantastic week.
We did everything for our guests to so that they felt like in their own homes. We spent a lot of time together, had an official opening ceremony, we went to the disco, where everyone was dancing and having fun. We spent amazing time in Uniejów city and later during the campfire in Poddębice. Saying goodbye to each other was really sad and hard. Now, after the meeting in Łódź we still have contact with our guests from Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Latvia and Hungary. The project gave us an opportunity to meet wonderful people with different culture and tradition. We learned how to eat healthy and stay fit which was the main establishment of the project. Additionally, we improved our English. Erasmus is a fantastic adventure which most of us will remember to the end of our life.
At the beginning it was a real challenge to organize the meeting in Poland, to give the students the opportunity to know each other, learn and have fun! Then it was just a fantastic work with passionate, creative students and teachers from so many European countries. I’m honoured to be a part of the project team and I look forward to the next meeting!
I’m really glad that we can participate in Erasmus+ program. The students have the chance to improve their speaking skills, make new friends and build a sense of European community. I really believe that thanks to the project the students’ attitude towards healthy lifestyle will change a lot.
I think it is a chance for our Highschool in an Erasmus+ project. It will open the students to other European cultures and ways of life. It will also help them build a European citizenship and teach them to be more open-minded and tolerant. The cultural and linguistic parts of this project are very important too, especially the practice of English as the main communication language. As for Biarritz Atlantic Highschool, this project will make it shine throughout all Europe.
This project will make me discover other European countries and ways of life different from ours. For example, when I was in Poland, I discovered the way of life of the family who hosted me. Through this project, I also expect to learn good habits to take care of my body. I find it easier to learn it from other young people rather than from adults. This project will also help me improve my English.
International friendship, learning new languages, learning about other cultures (food, sports, habits), learning how to improve my eating habits.
This project, in which eight teachers at our educative centre are immersed, provides us with a great happiness and life break out to our teaching as well as with a different educative perspective from which to work with our students several and varied aspects related to their formation. Besides, it favors a greater coordination which can be observed in the results of all the programmed products.
It also helps teachers and students to raise awareness in the need of having a healthy life in which both a balanced diet and sport are present. Both aspects have a positive influence on the students’ personal and professional development. The project also fosters students to acquire good eating and sports habits, in an autonomous way, from the research in different aspects of our work in which the benefits of these types of behavioural patterns will consolidate in adult life.
Finally, we mustn’t forget the cultural aspect that entails taking part in a European project of this kind, in which the English language plays a very important role and enriches everyone involved in it. This fosters the range of perspectives comparable to some and other countries.
Erasmus + project has injected a happiness dose and ties at our school. All students at Torre Salinas school make an effort everyday to improve English in order to communicate with all adolescents who form this project. I believe that when we work on it, we gain on linguistic and cultural aspects and we enrich ourselves to a great extent. On the one hand, when we make a mobility to an unknown country, as we can only communicate in English, we are forced to use the language that we have been learning at school for a long time, and then, this makes us feel really well. On the other hand, working on the project activities is really good as we learn aspects on health and physical matters that we can share with the rest of our partner countries.
Finally, I would like to say that I am making new friends through this project. I am looking forward to seeing them very soon when they come to Spain. I also hope to experience living in a family in one of the project countries and work the programme at a foreign school with people with so different cultures!!!
Erasmus + project provides us with a global vision of the different educative and social contexts of the European Union, favoring a human and cultural enriching. It is a really positive experience from the socioeducative point of view, which wouldn’t be possible with the great group of teachers and students who are part of it.
It was not only a trip to Poland; it was more things than that. Like: friendship, eating habits and sports!!!!
