This survey was carried out in the school over 186 students from November 4th to December 10th
Tastes and Preferences
Students know that water is the best drink to stay healthy.
Meat and pasta are their favourite dishes.
The quantity of sweets they declare seems to be under-evaluated because we feel teenagers eat sweets much more often.
On the whole, students seem to know the nutrients contained in food (fruit and meat).
On the other hand, more than half of them don’t know about the quantity of sugar in a can of Coke.
Meals at School
At school, students seem to eat more fruit and vegetables than at home. Maybe it’s because there are always fruit and vegetables in a canteen meal.
More than half of the students find food at school so-so. Maybe, that’s the reason why most of them snack during the breaks. Most of the snacks are made of biscuits or chocolate bars, which may endanger their diet balance.
Meals at Home
In France, a typical meal at home consists of a starter, a main dish and a dessert.
10% of teenagers don’t have breakfast and only a third of them eat fruit and vegetables every day. They seem to eat a lot of red meat every week.
More than half of the students eat homemade food every day
On the whole, their meals seem balanced as shown on this infographic.
On the other hand, when they eat outside, they mostly choose hamburgers, sandwiches or pizzas.
Sports and Physical Activities
53% of students practice sports once or twice a week, for about 30 to 60 min.
Rugby is at the first place in our region because it has been part of our culture for decades. More recently, practicing Basket Ball has also increased a lot. Dancing is mostly a girl sport.
